physical description: Parvati has very dark brown eyes that almost look black. She likes accentuating them with all sorts of makeup, such as eye shadow, eye liner and mascara, to really make her eyes pop. In a good way, of course. Parvati’s black hair sweeps to her mid-back. She meticulously straightens it every day to make it perfect, which some people say is ridiculous because her hair is already so straight. She likes to sometimes add accessories in her hair to stand out, such as clips, berets and sometimes cute hats. She stands at five feet, nine inches, one hundred and thirty-eight pounds. Parvati has her earlobes pierced, but for now, that is all. Parvati’s style changes almost month-to-month because that is when the fashion magazines come out. Her muggleborn mother is always on her case to never forget her muggle roots, so sometimes she’ll wear a pair of jeans and whatever is in vogue in the muggle world, but mostly she sticks with the latest wizarding trends --- when she can afford them.

YOU HAVE A CHOICE BETWEEN THE LISTING BELOW OR THE OVERALL PERSONALITY. DO NOT DO BOTH.
likes: Fashion, make-up, boys, gossip, feeling important, learning something new, puppies, The List, Dexter Weaver who is the cutest singer ever, baking
dislikes: Potions, Snape, butterscotch, being called ‘Padma,’ being called ‘Patil twin,’ Hermione Granger (sometimes), know-it-alls, people who treat her stupid, wearing last season’s clothes, having to watch other people wear last season’s (or more) clothes
strengths: Healing (though she doesn’t yet know it), excellent memory, good at Charms, baking, very loyal friend
weaknesses: Almost all of her other classes, gives up easily, holds a grudge, boy crazy, very low self-esteem
mirror of erised: Parvati’s biggest goal right now is just to make her parents proud. They always tell her that they’re proud of her, but she knows they wish she was more like Padma. She tries her best in classes, but she never manages to do as well as her sister.
fears: Bugs and spiders
boggart: Mummy
dementor: Parvati’s worst memory was in her first year, her very first night in the castle. It took a lot of courage for Parvati to separate herself from her sister by going into Gryffindor, but her courage ran out that night. It was the first time she was away from her sister overnight and she spent the night in the bathroom crying until Lavender came to her aid.
patronus: Parvati’s patronus, but she does not know yet, is a tiger. With the help of the DA, she will be able to produce it when she thinks of the Yule Ball, shockingly. Yes, she had a terrible time with Harry, but she had the most amazing time with Jacques when he asked her to dance. It was barely a relationship, but a cute French boy telling her how beautiful she was and how well she danced made her feel amazing.
relationship status: Single
overall personality: a minimum of three paragraphs. please don't copy and paste crap from wiki. i'll know.

overall history: Parvati came first out of the womb and that was the last time she beat Padma.
Her sister crawled first, walked first, talked first and did magic first. Parvati’s life was a giant game of catch up. She always was slightly behind her sister in doing everything, and because of it, Parvati always felt like her parents loved her less. If anything, they tried giving Parvati extra encouragement and extra attention, but nothing seemed to bring her up to speed to her sister.
Yet, without fail, both Parvati and Padma both received their Hogwarts letters in July of 1991. The girls gushed about how they were excited to finally get out of their house, away from their mother, and learn magic. In the back of Parvati’s mind, she thought how this was her chance to finally get away from her sister. The Sorting Hat saw Parvati’s desperate need to get away from her sister and placed her in Gryffindor, breaking the Patil tradition of Ravenclaw.
She had made an instant friend in Lavender Brown, the girl who swore she would never tell that Parvati spent most of their first night at Hogwarts sobbing in the bathroom about her sister. In Lavender, she found a friend who really understood her. Lavender understood that there were more important things than books, unlike her sister. On that first night, Parvati tried to be friends with Hermione, but when she started blabbing about books, all Parvati could think of was her sister.
Parvati tried, no, she really, really tried to separate Padma and Hermione in her head, but it was too hard. Parvati had become a Gryffindor because she did not want people to keep comparing them. She was tired of trying to be as smart as her sister, and here she was faced with the same thing. It made her want to cry all over again. In the back of her brain, Parvati knew that Hermione was just being nice when she offered to help with school work. She knew that Hermione had no friends. Parvati tried to be nice, but it sometimes came out meaner than she intended.
Despite all of that, Parvati loved her first year of Hogwarts. She felt herself really grow as a person not having to constantly be in her sister’s shadow. She still saw her sister almost every day, whether in classes or just spending a couple of hours together, but it was so great not being with her every moment of the day. Parvati thought it would be horrible, but really, she loved it. She made some amazing friends, especially Lavender, but for boys, Dean and Seamus were pretty cool. She had not spoken to Harry much, mostly out of awe. Her father had told her all about Harry Potter and she tried to be cool around him, but she caught herself staring a couple of times. It didn’t help that at the end of the year he saved the Philosopher’s Stone. She didn’t really understand what it meant, but he saved the school. How was she supposed to act normal around him?
Second year was not so great because of the Chamber of Secrets, which was kind of terrifying. As a halfblood, Parvati was safe, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t scared. When Hermione was attacked, Parvati felt so bad and missed her roommate so much that she promised that she would never, ever get mad at the girl ever again. It actually lasted the rest of the year, but only because Hermione did not come to until almost the end of term.
Parvati loved third year. Sure, she had to deal with the scariness that was Sirius Black, but she felt perfectly safe at Hogwarts. Well, until Sirius Black tried killing Ron. Apparently she would never be able to enjoy a safe year at Hogwarts. Her third year was her first year where her parents threatened to bring her and her sister home to be educated somewhere else that would be safer. Luckily, since her father worked too hard and her mother was a muggle, they had no way to teach their daughters, so they had to stay. The number one reason Parvati loved third year was because she finally found something she was good at: Divination. Parvati and Lavender had decided to take the class, and for once, they were better at something than Hermione was. It felt absolutely brilliant. Hermione was so bad at it that she actually left. Now whenever Parvati’s parents asked what she wanted to do with the rest of her life, she could say she was going to do something in Divination. She Saw it.
Fourth year was the best year of all though. Suddenly, there were cute boys everywhere. Cute foreign boys even! And Harry asked her to the first ball she ever went to! Unfortunately, he was a terrible date. It was not as fun as she thought it would be to be on a date with a Hogwarts champion. Luckily, a boy from Beauxbatons saved her, and then found a friend for her sister. They ended up having a smashing time. Everything was going great until the last event when Harry came out of the maze with a dead (dead!) Cedric Diggory, saying that You-Know-Who is back.
Now in Parvati’s fifth year, she does not know whether or not to believe You-Know-Who is back. She does not want to believe He’s back, from what he heard about those times from her dad. She also has to worry about her O.W.L.’s. She will never do as well as her sister, so she really has nothing to look forward to. This year might just bite.

Forty-five minutes? That had to be some kind of sick joke. Parvati looked at Lavender, knowing they were thinking the same thing: 45 minutes would never be enough time to get ready for a dance! Without waiting for anything further, Parvati grabbed Lavender’s hand, and almost tripping while standing up, ran out of the Great Hall. Shortly after they left, Parvati could hear other girls behind them, clearly with the same idea. What was Dumbledore playing at? Thank Merlin Parvati had the decent sense to always bring dress up clothes, just in case. Sure, she could have used the space for extra parchment or something silly like that, but look how important it was that she had those dresses! Also, it was a very good thing that Witch Weekly just announced that being fashionably late was not only acceptable, but expected. Otherwise, if they were expected to make it to the dance at 8 p.m., they would not look their best, and that was just unacceptable.
“Use this time to pick out your outfit and your hairstyle,” Parvati said as they rushed to the common room. She had by now dropped her friend’s hand. Listening to her own advice, Parvati mentally thought about each dress she had. She had that black one, her very own little black dress. At 15, she thought it was necessary to possess a little black dress for when she needed to impress the socks off some boy. It was likely that every other girl would wear black though because everyone looked good in black. No, pick a different colour. In her head, she pushed aside the dress to look at the next one. Oooh, she had her new green dress. She had never even worn it. Would that be fancy enough? Parvati would rather be overdressed than underdressed, so she should probably avoid that one, too. She had her aquamarine dress though. That would be perfect. It wasn’t too dressy or too casual. It was also very flowy, which always made it fun to twirl, which would be perfect at a dance.
Now the hair. She had to think of something quick because they were approaching the common room. While it was good to be fashionably late, she did not want to be late late. The dance was only three hours long after all. No, she had to think. What would look good with her long black hair against that dress? She had sleeves, so she could wear her hair up or down. Parvati thought down would look nicer though. Buns were too dreary for a dance and anything else would take too long to do. She refused to do a plait or just straight because she did that for class every day. People would think she was boring. Parvati Patil was not boring. What about ornaments? She had lots of ribbon. She could probably find something to weave in her hair to match the dress. That might look pretty.
Muttering the password without even thinking, Parvati dashed to her dormitory, making sure Lavender was still behind her. She did not bother to close the door because she knew others would shortly be coming in, “We have to prioritize. What should we do first?”
