overall personality:
Ellie is that type of girl who lives in a shell. Not literally though. Living in a shell would be absurd. Only crabs do that. Okay, sorry for distracting myself. Anyway, Ellie has formed a sort of barrier around herself that can only be broken down once you get to know her well enough. She’s extremely shy when it comes to meeting people for the first time. However, if you start to chip away at her and get to know her, then you will eventually gain Ellie’s trust. And once she trusts you, soon she’ll open up more. But you have to work at it if you want to get to know her. Ellie isn’t one to form plans with people. She’s usually enjoys it more when she’s alone with a nice book in her hand.
Once you get to know the real Ellie, however, she’s actually a very enjoyable person to be around. Ellie is very calm and peaceful. She doesn’t like fighting, or wild crowds, or loud noises. She’s not afraid to have a little fun, though. If you dare Ellie to do something, she’ll do it. She’s not a coward. Ellie is also very loyal to those close to her. She’d never do anything to hurt her friends. If they ask her to keep a secret, she’ll guard it with her life. That’s why Ellie is very reliable and level-headed. She won’t let anybody mess with her friends.
Ellie lacks self-confidence, though. She’s usually very worried about her appearance, and how others view her. Opinions mean a lot. They can either boost her up considerably, or knock her down, hard. And this leads back to the shyness issue. She only opens up to people who she thinks won’t bash on her. She picks her friends carefully.
Other than those main traits, Ellie has some curious interests. First off, Ellie adores reading. She doesn’t like text-books, though. Text-books could bore her to tears. She likes exciting novels. She usually reads stories according to her current mood. If she’s feeling daring, she might pick up an adventure novel. If she’s helplessly in love, maybe a romance book. Usually her friends can tell what’s on her mind by the cover of her book. It’s a habit she’s tried but failed to get rid of.
Ellie is also a control-freak, though she tries to hide this little part about herself as best she can. Simple things that aren’t in order will drive her mad. It takes all of her concentration to sit still and stay quiet. Ellie’s part of her dorm is spotless, and personalized to perfection. Her clothes are all folded neatly inside her trunk. She knows where everything is. Also, during group projects in school, she’ll be dying to tell her partners what they are doing wrong. But her shyness usually wins in the end, and she’ll end up being quiet and letting other people do what they want. Basically, if Ellie wasn’t shy and cared about people’s feelings, she would be a bossy control-freak all the time. But she only rants about this type of stuff inside her head. Nowhere else.
Ellie also likes bright clothing, flowers and nature, Qudditch, helping people, and writing. She hates Death Eaters, Voldemort, and people that act cocky. She especially hates people who are very judgmental about stupid things. People who bash on muggle-borns drive her absolutely mad. That’s the one time where she bursts out of shell and fiercely threatens whoever is a jerk enough to say things like that. She also likes House Elves, so if she ever found out about SPEW, there’s no doubt that she would sign up in a heartbeat.

family: Emily Bennett -48 - Muggle (no magic)
Bob Bennett - 40 - deceased - Half-blood
overall history:
Ellie Amelia Bennett was born to Emily and Bob Bennett on September 2nd, 1979 in London, England. She lived a fairly normal life as a child in terms of the wizarding world. Her dad, a Half-blood wizard like Ellie, loved to use magic around their house. He enchanted Ellie’s toys so they would fly around the room, and introduced her to Quidditch, a sport which she still adores today. He even took her to the World Cup in 1985, when she was five years old. Bob had worked at the Ministry, and had been lucky enough to win two tickets in a raffle at work one day.
Ellie loved being a witch. She knew she belonged in this strange yet wonderful world. She felt bad for the muggles when she was little, knowing that they lived such boring lives while Ellie was so lucky. She only barely talked to muggles when she was little. Most of the time she was with other wizards and witches from her dad’s work. Therefore, she barely had a clue how muggles went along their daily lives.
But then there was her mom. Ellie had no idea that her mother was a muggle when she was little. Her parents had never told her. Ellie always assumed that her mother was a witch too. Sure, she had never seen her use magic, but she was very accustomed to the wizarding ways. And she loved Ellie’s father a lot, and didn’t act like the magic thing was weird.
In the summer of 1987, when Ellie was seven, her father, who she loved so much, died. It was very sudden and unexpected. He was out of town on a job for the Ministry. Bob wasn’t an Auror, but sometimes he did accompany them on their missions to help out. One day, while they were looking for Death Eaters that were in hiding, the spells starting coming out of nowhere when they were asleep in their tent. Bob was the first to jolt awake and run outside to see what was going on. And then he was hit. And he died, just like that.
The Aurors were able to capture the Death Eaters after they thought that Bob was the only one staying in the tent. They let their guard down, and soon the Aurors were transporting them to Azkaban. They were able to grab Bob’s body too. When Ellie and Emily heard of what had happened, the world just seemed to shatter. Ellie was really upset, but she tried to keep brave. Her mother, however, did not take it well at all. She quickly spiraled into depression, and spent almost every day locked inside her bedroom, mourning.
After a few months, Emily finally got over Bob’s death, but she wasn’t the same anymore. She instantly sold their house, which was so close to the Ministry, and bought an apartment on the opposite end of the city. She banned magic from the house, forced Ellie to get rid of her magical possessions, and made her go to normal muggle school. Ellie was devastated, and more importantly, outraged. She didn’t understand why her mom was acting this way. Why was she turning into a muggle?
That’s when her mother told her that she actually was a muggle. She didn’t want anything to do with the wizarding world anymore. It was what had caused Bob’s death in her eyes. And she didn’t want Ellie to be a witch now too. So she forced her into regular school, and made her act like a regular muggle. She would become furious if Ellie even mentioned their old life.
Ellie had a really hard time making friends. She was very quiet during school, and rarely talked to anyway. She was still fuming over how her life had changed. She hated living a muggle life. It was boring and colorless. She slowly began to despise her mother, until finally she started using the word “hate.” She missed her father more than ever during these four miserable years of her life.
When Ellie was ten, she got the letter in the mail from Hogwarts. She had almost forgotten about Hogwarts entirely. Finally her life started looking up from here. She could now live her old life again! She could go to school with kids who were the same as her and knew she wasn’t a freak! Ellie eagerly accepted, ignoring her mother’s pleas for her not to attend. She knew it sounded harsh, but Ellie no longer cared about her mother’s opinion.
So Ellie boarded the Hogwarts Express a day before she turned eleven, and from then on she couldn’t be happier at Hogwarts. She always stays at the school on holidays, and only stays with her mother in the summer. They don’t talk much, but her mother does allow Ellie to keep her Hogwarts robes and trunks in the house, something she would never allow before. Ellie is still saddened by her father’s death, and her cold relationship with her mom. But she always cheers herself up by thinking that her dad would want her to be a witch. And what better way to become a great one than going to Hogwarts?[/font]
