Katie was a tough cookie. She was strong, and she was pretty stone-faced when she had to deal with pain. The first time she'd broken a bone was when she was six - it was her arm, and she had a blue cast. She remembered it like it was yesterday, and she had loved getting everyone to sign it. Oddly enough, she couldn't remember the pain she'd gone through to get the cast, just the fun she had running around with a permanent marker getting her school friends and her family to sign it near Christmastime.
She had broken many bones since then - roughhousing, playing sports, the one time she'd been in a car accident (more a fender bender than anything) - and each time, she couldn't quite recall how painful it had been, only months later.
But even Katie had a feeling she'd remember the pain she was in right now for the rest of her life. She was nearly crying (but in a very tough way) as she walked next to her chosen escort to the Hospital wing from the Quidditch Pitch, gently cradling her shattered elbow. It hurt like nothing she'd ever felt before - but Katie supposed that was what happened when a bludger smashed into the most tender part of your arm. The sound the break had made would have been enough to make a strong man wince, but the feeling of the delicate bones in one's elbow shattering into what felt like a trillion pieces? It was enough to make a grown man bawl, and at the moment it happened, she almost had. She kept her stone face on until she got off the pitch (to a rousing bit of applause) and started tearing up.
After all, she had to keep her reputation strong. But now, walking next to her escort (as chosen by the referee) she was sniffling and the tears were about to pour over. "I don’t usually cry like this," She assured, continuing to cradle her elbow with her other hand.

The escort happened to be Fay, she didn't mind doing different things and she didn't mind helping either. She could fix many things but broken elbows were a different story. Her strawberry blond hair waved in the gentle wind as she tried to help the girl as best as she could without putting her in any more pain than necessary. "It's all right, I'm sorry I can't fix that, I know healing spells but bones are something else...acheing is one thing and even sprains are managable but I don't fix bones at least not bludger inflicted bones" she said as she looked at the girl. She couldn't be about sixteen or seventeeen and by now she had known that she was a Gryffindor. She herself was a former Hufflepuff but she really didn't find houses that important so long as you were not a slytherin. "Anyway, my name is Fay I forgot to tell you till now, but than again, I forget to say a lot of things"
She herself had a white cane with her as she led the girl, because she couldn't see but she had excellent sensing abilities. She could hear and she was very perceptive of situations and surroundings. As they got nearer to the hospital wing she said. "I'll stay with you, since I've got nothing to do...and speaking of which I don't think I've ever heard of you before, what is your name?" she asked. "and if I'm supposed to know, don't mind me I just came back after fifteen years of hiatus from wizarding world"
