Finally some time to himself. Gabriel probably looked forward to this far too much. However, he was now able to return to his rebuilt house in the outskirts of Hogsmeade. Gabriel went to the greatest efforts to protect it this time, this time, he put even more protective enchantments on his house. He could not risk the same thing happening again. Today Gabriel was in jeans, a slate colored shirt, and a black blazer. He was glad to be in some casual clothes as he was on a short respite. He took the time to walk through Hogsmeade and speak to some students who had stopped him, and went towards the outskirts of the magical village. He stopped before a Georgian style house, it was his. Gabriel's gaze fell upon the flowering cherry tree that stood in the side yard.
This cherry tree, it was Briar's, and he had put a few enchantments on it to keep it alive, and blooming. He observed the tree for a while longer. He knew that it was thankfully, not the Whomping Willow, and that it wouldn't move. Rather, Gabriel reminisced for a few, before walking towards some of the trails that wound around the village of Hogsmeade. Gabriel took this time to transform. Sometimes pondering was easier in this form. He seemed to become more attached to this equine form of his as time went. He took the time to take in his surroundings. Blue horse eyes scanned the foliage that grew abundantly around him and he took the time to take in the scents that clung to the autumn air.

. this road was paved by the broken hearted but we've got to finish what we started
481. - Gabe - um um hi ------------------------------------------------------------------ It wasn't a very elaborate escape plan. In fact, he was simply walking out the door and apparating to Hogsmeade. But there was something about defying some of the most influential wizards alive that was, to say it as bluntly as possible, the closest thing to an adrenaline rush Sirius had gotten in a long while. There were certainly perks to being an unregistered animagus and this was one of them. But he supposed now if he thought about it, he was as good as being in the books; what with Pettigrew and Snivly telling stories to their Death Eater friends, the lot of them who had high respect in the Ministry... Not all that surprising, one cowardly and selfish leach was bound to respect another. But if anyone actually thought he was important enough to go scouring the forests for a mutt, then he'd be glad to make their acquaintance. And so he closed the door behind him with little worry, and as the night air hit him there was a spark of prideful defiance in his eyes he hadn't felt since just after his school years, when he first joined the Order.
It was only a few minutes later that a large black dog was padding through the thick grass on the outskirts of Hogsmeade village, thoroughly enjoying himself. He must have looked slightly better than the last time he was in the area. Not well, but at least not as wet and dirty and starved. It would be a Hogsmeade weekend for Hogwarts the one after next, he believed, and maybe.. depending on the circumstances.. something like this wouldn't be entirely out of the question. He froze both his stance and his thoughts when he picked up on distant footsteps; not because they were footsteps, but instead... a sort of trotting. Trotting, in the way that an overconfident stag would as his showed off to his friends- or a certain red haired Gryffindor. Prongs... Like Prongs. He gave a quiet bark, in question, in memory- he wasn't sure. It was coming from closer to the residential area than he'd planned on going, but he couldn't shake it from his mind now and he made his way over. As he realized just how far away it was though, he knew he'd been off. Whatever it was was much larger. Seeing the shadow of the dark horse was his reality check, and he crouched lower, taking cover behind a tree as he scolded himself for being so.. hopeful, and he observed the creature. Seeing a horse here wasn't completely uncommon, but after long enough, it was easy to differentiate animal mannerisms from human ones, and this one was a little too.. pensive, to be just another wild animal. He could have been wrong, but he could have been right too. And that was more than enough to keep him from walking away.

431. - Gabe - what i said about not being a fact person, you can tell me if some of this didnt' make sense. I basically guessed things xP ------------------------------------------------------------------ The horse had definitely noticed him- or noticed something anyway, that it felt the need to try and figure out. Sirius- Padfoot didn't move a muscle as it went about with it's looking or smelling or listening. Only his eyes trailed to either side, as if it was something other than himself they ought to be concerned over... He'd done the same thing earlier- only in a more 'run and find it first, figure out what it is later' sort of way. Not the same at all, actually, but that was... besides the point. Despite the large size difference he knew that he could be easily perceived as a threat. If he chose to jump and attack the horse in a coyote-like fashion, there wasn't much it could do about that. But he'd bet the horse was faster, and it certainly had a weight advantage. Of course, Sirius didn't have any hostile plans. He was just accustomed to knowing what to do in these things. Both real and wizard, he'd met some rather territorial animals. This thing however... When it went and snorted, he wasn't able to hold back a laugh. A bark really, but he'd been told once there was a difference. Either his animagus laughed like a person or he normal laughed like a dog. Whichever way, it was so much for watching.
He stepped out from being the tree as it started moving again, looking at the creature in front of him intently, and then circling around it with his quick step, sniffing and never looking to it's eyes. The scent of it wasn't completely foreign, something he actually remembered in fact, from somewhere a long time ago. But he knew he'd never seen this horse before. At least.. this form of this horse. He paused, thinking where. Thinking people. Definitely Hogwarts grounds. He couldn't pin it the way he'd be able to Remus' or James' or .. Pettigrews', but it was someone that had been around them enough. Someone in their house maybe. Someone he knew. He stopped in front of it's path and looked up at it, nodding his head slightly in a manner that implied he should explain himself. He wasn't quite sure what reaction that would warrant, but he hoped at least the bluff would confirm his suspicions of it being an animagus. People tried to justify themselves. Animals relied on instincts. He personally liked incorporating a nice balance of the two. .
