physical description: Cassie has a little bit of a preppy look to her appearance. She either wears her long brown curls up in a messy pony tail slash bun, or loose around her shoulders - it all depends on the mood she's in. Her body figure is slender and athletic, as she likes to stay slim to make getting into small places easier, and... well, let's just say it has other benefits. If she's not wearing her robes and she's just sitting around having a lazy day, she can be seen wearing a simple jeans and t-shirt ensemble. But if she's not wearing her robes and is around an attractive guy or just out and about near other people, she'll wear loose floral shirts and short shorts with sandals and her hair in a flirty styled up-do.

family:
Father: Judas Xavier Nicholson
Mother: Fiona Guinevere [Elliot] Nicholson
Brother: Liam Zeke Nicholson
overall history: Cassie was born and raised in New York, New York, America, and given everything her heart desired, just like her brother was given everything he desired. The Nicholsons were and still are a well known and wealthy family, her father being the CEO of a huge corporate business on the side of working in the Ministry with her mother. Her father has always despised muggles, and so he works to take everything from them and crush their spirits into dust. When Cassie was a naïve child, she asked her father why he did what he did to muggles, and was told that muggles are worthless, pathetic wastes of the earth's space because they didn't have magic and so were automatically inferior to those who did posses magic. This was drilled into her mind constantly to ensure that she didn't become one of the blood traitors who actually liked muggles, and she soon grew to dislike them as much as her family did.
When Cassie was seven years old, her parents sent her away to a school called Coates Academy, where she would learn how to fight – both using magic and using herself in a physical fight. She learned dark spells, and how to torture people into giving her what she wanted, which was, in training, usually information. But she stored it in her mind to use for personal uses, as well. She also learned how to handle herself in hand-to-hand combat, and how to create potions to use as bombs and poisons. Coates taught Cassie how to be cold hearted, to show no mercy, no weakness, and no pain, and, when she was older and in the more advanced classes, was even taught how to kill someone if need be. Around that time, her parents found out something about her brother, and owled her about it.
Apparently, her brother Liam was the fruit of a drunken night with a muggle, and so his blood status was found to be not pure, but half. Her father was furious, and disowned her brother, not knowing what to do about his wife just then. When Cassie came home on holiday, her father had figured out what it was that needed to be done about his wife's traitorous affair. Not even a day after Cassie was home, there was a flash of green light and a scream coming from the room that her parents shared, and her father's problem was no more. Cassie was distraught over her mother's death, and didn't quite understand her father's drastic actions, but knew better, and so kept her thoughts and feelings to herself.
When she went back to Coates, she continued learning the Dark Arts and everything else. A couple of years went by, and by then she was eleven and already cold as ice. Then, when she was in one of her classes, a muggle was brought in. At first, no one knew what it was that they were supposed to do with this muggle, but the professor soon revealed that they were to practice their skills of torture, painful persuasion, and eventually, killing, on the man that had been brought in. Cassie was nervous, and a little uneasy about the whole thing, but not wanting to be the only one not doing as she was told (which would have led to dire consequences) she did as instructed. At the end, when the muggle was near to death anyway from everything he'd gone through, the professor called on Cassie to be the one to finish him off.
She panicked, because she'd only killed small animals and insects before, and she didn't have the luxury of saying a simple spell and being done with it – they had to do it with a knife. Brooke hesitated before she took her blow to the man, and grimaced, not being able to look at what she was doing and so quickly looking away. Biggest mistake she'd ever made, right there. Because of her mistake, Cassie was called into the Headmistresses office, and it was later decided that she would be transferred to a different school – Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her father had been called in for the occasion, and he was less than pleased about it all; especially about the way she killed the muggle. He scolded her when they were alone, saying that when she left for her new school, she would not be coming back to New York on holiday, but staying with her brother instead since he had no idea how to handle her, like he didn't know what to do with her mother.
He threatened, that if she didn't straighten up at Hogwarts, and make it her mission, in fact, to find the followers of the dark lord and befriend them. He then said that once she graduated from Hogwarts, she was to further her alliance with the dark lord, and, eventually, make it a permanent one. Four years later, and she's become the best of friends with Pansy Parkinson, and her boyfriend Draco Malfoy. Although... she's mostly grown close to Pansy, and less with Draco, just because, you know, they're girls, so they just naturally are closer. Cassie has sort of forgotten about her father's threat and what she's supposed to be doing at Hogwarts, but she figures it doesn't really matter because her father's just going to do what he wants, no matter what.

Cassie huffed and blew her hair out of her eyes, not listening to her brother's droning, as students and families hustled to say their goodbyes and get their luggage onto the train, give each other hugs and kisses and... it was disgusting. She wrinkled her nose and turned her attention back to her brother. He was saying something about about being safe, not hurting anyone despite what she'd been taught at Coates, and "the most important thing", don't disappoint their father. As if she didn't already know all of that? Jeeze. She swore Liam treated her as if she were still a little girl, like she was the last time she'd seen him, before she'd come to live with him. Or, rather, been sent to live with him and becoming the second child their father had just tossed aside without a second thought, just because they screwed up once.
In Liam's case, though, it hadn't been his fault. It was just the fact that he was the fruit of a screw up, and so therefore, in their dad's eyes, he was a screw up. Which was why he'd disowned him as his son. And now, because Cassie had hesitated when she'd killed someone, she was facing a sort of "trial" with her father to see if her fate would be the same as her brother's. Though... she was getting a second chance; her father hadn't given Liam that option. He'd simply labeled him as trash and disowned him, kicking him out into the streets with nothing to live for and a head start before he decided to sick his henchmen on him to clean up the mess his wife had made. Cassie jerked her thoughts away from all of that, then, because she knew that thinking of her mom was dangerous, and she couldn't risk that weakness, when she wasn't even at Hogwarts, yet.
Liam had stopped talking and was now staring at her, an annoyed look on his face. "Cass, were you even listening? Did you hear anything that I said?" Cassie bit her lip and shrugged, not knowing how to give him an answer, for a minute. "Sorry, I'm just... thinking. It was fine if I was all loose and relaxed for the summer, working on my tan on the beach with my bikini and a beer in hand, but now that school's starting again... I can't afford to be that distracted from my mission. So I reminded myself what I'm at Hogwarts for, in the first place." Liam's facial expression went from that of annoyance, to that of concern, and he wrapped his arms around his little sister. "You'll do fine. Okay? I know you will."
He stepped back, sensing her stiffness in the hug, Cassie supposed, and gave her a crooked grin. "You can assemble a gun in less than twenty seconds. You're bad ass. You'll be fine." Cassie laughed half heartedly and rolled her eyes, "Right, like that skill is going to do me any good at this school. No offence. I'm sure you had fun at Hogwarts while you were there." Liam chuckled and shook his head, crossing his arms over his chest. "You'd better get going. You wouldn't want the train leaving without you." Cassie sighed, replying sarcastically, "Oh, no, I definitely wouldn't want that." She smirked and shook her head, stepping back from Liam and starting to walk away, but backward, so she could still see him, partially so that he couldn't hug her again, which she was completely uncomfortable with, and partially because she was just stepping closer to the train.
"See you at Christmas." He nodded, and Cassie stepped onto the train, her luggage in hand. She searched for an empty compartment, but most of them were full up or had people that looked too friendly for her tastes. Then, she saw a compartment with a guy about her age, looking to be calm, and, Brooke thought, pretty attractive. She shrugged, not really having too many other options, and slid open the door, walking in and flicking her wrist with her wand in one hand to put her luggage away. She leaned on the doorway then, the light in the window behind her streaming in and illuminating her hair as she blinked slowly, looking at him with a soft smirk. It didn't hurt anyone to flirt a little bit, now did it? Besides, it might make the train ride a little more interesting. "Mind if I join you? I'm afraid there's not too many other options left, elsewise I wouldn't be bothering you at the moment."
