physical description:
Deidra has raven black hair that falls in light waves down her back. When the sun hits her hair, you can see hints of a dark chocolate color in it. She mostly wears her hair up in a messy french knot but there are occasions where it is down. Deidra has rather large baby blue eyes that contrast with dark thick lashes. Though her eyes seem almost to large for her face, considering her high cheek bones and thin cheeks, they are still a lovely shade of blue. She generally does black or the smokey eye look when it comes to make up.
Deidra is a tall woman standing at five foot nine inches with a thin yet curvy form, especially in the bust area. She gives off this elegant and feminine air about her. She has perfect posture and holds her head high when she walks, showing that she has confidence. Her skin is pale, from being inside most of the time and has undertones of blue. Her face is long, lips are thin and her nose fits her face perfectly.
Deidra often doesn't wear muggle clothing, or if she does she wears it under a plain robe that she wears around Hogwarts. Her style of clothing is rather elegant and always hails from Paris. She tends to always looks her best and goes for the 1930's era more so. Deidra mostly wears dresses and high heels but there are occasions when she does where pants (generally wide legged). She wears no particular color but generally one article of her clothing is black, it's chic. What ever she is wearing, it is tailored to fit her body perfectly. She doesn't wear a lot makeup, but when she does it isn't heavy.
Her wand is an eleven inch black walnut wand with a kelpie hair core.

overall personality:
First and for most, Deidra has agoraphobia. This is where she has panic attacks if she is in an unfamiliar area with no easy way to escape, especially if she is in large crowds. This is due to her being home bound basically all her life, except when she was to attend Hogwarts. There for when she is at Hogwarts or home, she doesn't get panic attacks and feels at ease. Her panic attacks generally consists of trembling, racing heart, shortness of breath, and nausea. Deidra has a really hard time with this and there for doesn't go anywhere that she is uncomfortable with unless she absolutely has to. But she has managed to keep this hidden and actually no one knows except her father.
Outside of her disorder, Deidra is actually a confident and charismatic woman. Everything from the way she walks to her posture exudes confidence. She's a charmer and is by no means shy. She enjoys having fun, sometimes stepping out of the norm. This could be because she is trying to make up for her condition. However, to hide her condition she often tells elaborate stories about her "travels" some from books and others from her own imagination. In a way, she is living through her tales. Other then that she doesn't lie about anything else. Though she likes to ask other's questions and learn more about them, she doesn't mind telling others about herself, to an extent. She tends to obsess about things and has a jealous streak.
Although Deidra is a librarian one of her strengths is transfiguration. She has excelled at this since she first took the class at Hogwarts and has used it ever since. Being an older witch, Deidra is also good at duelling. She's great at telling tales of her "vast travels", enough for most to believe, especially young minds. Deidra obviously isn't good at leaving Hogwarts or her home, even if it is a few miles down the road. There for she tries to come up with worthy excuses as to why she can't do certain things. Another weakness for her is crowds, she does not do well in crowds especially in unfamiliar areas.
Her patronus is a Reindeer, and her memory she uses is when her father actually let her attend Hogwarts. Her boggart is an unfamiliar enclosed space with no windows or doors, the feeling of being trapped and having no where to go.
Deidra is a neutral witch for the moment as well as a drinker and smoker.

family:
Demetris Marcus Darko, Father
Katherine Ann Nettle-Darko, Mother, Deceased
overall history:
Deidra Jocelyn Darko, is not fully British, in fact she is only half. Her father is British and is a descendant of the Black family, where as her mother Katherine was Austrian. Demetris Marcus Darko was in his hay day a traveler, seeing as far as India. He started his travels the year after he graduated from Hogwarts. Traveling all across Europe, he soon found himself in Austria where he met the lovely and mysterious Katherine Ann Nettle. She was a different type of woman, always kind and finding beauty in everything but she still had a back bone.
Demetris took the fellow pureblood back to England with him and they settled down in Ipswich. Two years later, they were wed and a year after that, Katherine was pregnant. Demetris and Katherine were extremely happy about this, even figuring out a name before she was born Deidra Jocelyn. Tragically, Katherine died during child birth and Demetris soon became a single parent. Though he was very heart broken, he took care of Deidra latching on to her. Though it was good for him to heel, it wasn't good for Deidra. Growing up, Demetris didn't let his daughter outside a lot, and outside the yard? Forget it. If he did let her go out, he was of course with her all the way. He was worried that he would loose her just like he did his wife so he made sure to keep her safe.
Deidra grew to actually like being inside or in the yard and not going out. Even if she was with her dad, she became very shy and anxious. When she got her letter to attend Hogwarts, both her and her father were petrified (though deep inside her father was proud). Deidra cried a lot from fear of leaving home, but Demetris tried to talk to her about it. She at least agreed to go to Diagon Alley to get her supplies and there she found a friend in the loviest creature she could. It was a black owl with gold eyes, to which she dubbed Ardin. He also reassured her that they could write to each other everyday. When Deidra finally went to Hogwarts, she was sorted into Ravenclaw.
Deidra excelled as a Ravenclaw and soon grew used to Hogwarts and the crowds, though she never grew used to Hogsmeade. She figured being able to go to Hogwarts could be an opportunity since her father wouldn't let her go anywhere else. Here she began to act confident and tell stories about different places she had been. Though the tales she told were her father's stories. By third year, Deidra was a more different young lady, talkative, confident and lady like. Her third year, she also discovered her favorite class Transfiguration. She excelled at it, and every year after her third year she took Transfiguration each year.
Deidra graduated Hogwarts and went back home, staying with her father to take care of him. In all honesty, she was afraid to go anywhere else. Demetris didn't mind and was happy that his daughter came back to him. She didn't really do much, except just staying home. Her father being old fashion, tried to find her suitors that would be acceptable but that didn't happen. It wasn't until she got a letter from Hogwarts again, asking her to be the Librarian that she really did anything. Deidra was ecstatic that she was asked to come back and packed immediately.
Though she works at Hogwarts now, when the year is over she always goes back home to look after her father, now that he is getting older. She's worried for him but has managed to still keep her Agoraphobia under wraps. Now that Umbridge is at Hogwarts, she's a little weary about the outcome.

Deidra's eyes looked up at the sky, watching a bird soar by. How she wished she could be that bird in all honesty. A gentle sigh left her lips as she looked from the sky, and out toward Hogsmeade. How she longed to travel down the road, stop at The Three Broomsticks, grab a Fire Whiskey and something sweet, then head back. But in the back of her mind, Deidra knew she couldn't, not without looking completely ridiculous. Fire Whiskey would help with her courage, but it wasn't her courage that hindered her. It was her phobia, agoraphobia to be exact. Her ice blue eyes grew clouded as she dreamt of what she could do, travel the world, even see what was just down the road back home. Not having it, would certainly make her feel like that bird.
Deidra decided to stop daydreaming and go back to work. Her hand reached up as her long fingers brushed some of her raven locks out of her face. Her long wavy hair was twisted up in a messy french knot. Her black robe billowed out around her tall frame, underneath a nice simple navy blue dress and of course black pumps. Her pale face was deprived of makeup, but she didn't need it. Immediately, her posture became almost perfect with standing as she turned and began to walk back towards Hogwarts, her hips swaying with each step. Her presence was that of elegance and femininity, as if she was studying the ways of being a lady all her life. It was just how she seemed to carry herself.
Her ice blue eyes peered through thick lashes as they stayed in front of her. Nothing seemed to phase her, even as a student dropped their book next to her, or a male student gawked. She actually liked the attention, not the sexual attention from a younger student, just their attention. She was a very charismatic woman and demanded another's attention. When another didn't act as if they were enchanted, even though it drove her mad, she found it quiet refreshing. Though she still yearned for them to hang on her every word. She was an interesting woman like that.
Deidra ascended the stairs to the fourth floor, not many students were on them but that was quite alright. Class was in section after all. With each step, her robe seemed to blow from her frame and fly back, making her seem as if she was walking faster then she was. Her hand reached as she opened the door to the library and quickly walked in. The smell of old books immediately greeted her and Deidra let out a heavy sigh, ah her home away from home. Her heels sounded harsh on this floor, and her head moved from side to side as she looked down each aisle of book shelves on her way to the desk. Just to make sure no students were goofing off, of course some looked up at her as she walked by and she gave them a quick smile.
Deidra turned on her heel as she made it to her desk and swiftly turned, her hands landing on her desk top as she stood inside the center of the large wooden circular monstrosity. Her hands stayed on the desk as she leaned forward and waited for a student who needed help. Her ice blue eyes moved as she looked out the window in her peripheral vision. How she wished to have that Fire Whiskey right about now. Suddenly a little squeak was heard as someone stopped in front of her on the other side of her desk. "Uh Miss Darko, is it true you went to India? Oh how I would love to go to India"the second year spoke with a bright smile. Deidra looked down at the young girl and gave her a trusting smile "Why of course, you I'm sure you would love it, let me begin..."
