Something in the Way she Moves
Although she had gotten the letter earlier that day, Crystal had waited before she decided to read it. And, that was only because she knew who had sent it. She truly hadn’t wished for her uncle’s latest owl to ruin her mood. So, as she headed in the direction of the lake, Crys was trying to decide it she would even read it. She already knew that there was the chance of her being disappointed. She just didn’t know by how much, which was why she was hesitant to read it. It simply was because lately that was the only thing her uncle managed to do. The only thing that she was certain of was the fact that she wasn’t going to tell anyone...especially not Professor Snape about her uncle’s recent behavior. It wasn’t as if she didn’t trust her Head of House...it was just that she didn’t want to risk the chance of Professor Snape killing her uncle. The only reason why she was heading to the lake at this moment was because she wanted to be alone. As she finally reached where she was heading, she looked around to make sure that no one was there, and moved to sit down at a nearby tree before she actually pulled the letter out.
As she skimmed the letter, her eyes narrowed and she frowned deeply, with letters like this one, she wondered exactly why she continued to be concerned about what had changed her uncle. She balled up the letter and placed it on the ground next to her. Her uncle lately had become one of the reasons why she couldn’t sleep. The other reason would have to be her O.W.L.S., especially the one in potions. It was no shock that she was good in all of her classes, but she knew that her grades had started to slip. She just didn’t know by how much, and she also knew that those that she got along with were starting to worry about her. She needed to be careful, if they got too concerned then that meant that they would probably tell her head of house, and even though she trusted the man, she didn’t want to take the chance of Professor Snape killing her uncle. Or, was it the other way around? That was the main question, which one of them was the most dangerous, Professor Snape or her uncle? She did have one thing on her side and that would have to be the fact that the new transfiguration teacher was keeping Snape occupied.
Even if that was the case, she still didn’t want to risk the chance of him finding out. Which meant that she had to worry about her OWLS, keep her friends from telling her head of house, keep up her grades, and worry about what to do concerning her uncle. No wonder, she usually found herself wandering the corridors most nights, instead of trying to sleep. Crystal let out a deep sigh as she closed her eyes, forgetting about the letter that was balled up next to her. She also didn’t notice that in her moment of relaxation that she had allowed the glamour that she had been to using to fall somewhat.
