physical description:
Hagrid is a light-skinned half giant standing at a startling height of eleven feet-eight inches. In general, he is more than double the height of any normal man and three times as wide. He possessed several advantages over normal wizards, including enhanced physical strength, resilience to several types of spells, and advanced endurance. He often wears animal pelts, as finding clothes to fit his large body is nearly impossible; such as moleskin overcoats and ferret-pelt scarves. His face is nearly obscured by his large amounts of curly black hair that flow from both his chin and his scalp, creating a mane revealing only his ruby red cheeks and glittering black eyes.

boggart: Lord Voldemort
dementor: Being expelled from Hogwarts – Hagrid’s expulsion from Hogwarts was taken harshly and he refuses to speak of the experience to anyone, and will ignore any inquires as to the explusion.
patronus: – Hagrid’s best memory is bittersweet; when he went into the ruined house of the Potters and found a single baby by the name of Harry, crying but still alive. He immediately fell in love with the infant, and has striven to protect Harry from that time on-ward.
relationship status: Single
overall personality:
Hagrid’s bravery and loyalty overrule most of his other features, including his tendency to forget his enhanced size and his inability to keep secrets affectively. His bravery knows little boundaries, exemplified by his several participations in the wizarding wars and his membership of both the original Order of the Phoenix and the revived one, despite his extreme fear of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The loyalty of Hagrid is a bit obsessive, to the point of threatening others who speak against his friends. He is always willing to fight, if the need arises, despite his gentle and jolly nature; his aggressive love for those he cares for becoming evident. Hagrid places his faith in both Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore, believing firmly that they are the most important wizards to this day, and are both the key to the future downfall of the Dark Lord.
Hagrid has several bad qualities; however none of them scare away his true friends. Hagrid’s obsessions for the challenge that revolve around untamed magical creatures define his personality, often connected to his taste in pets and relationship with the animals within the Forbidden Forest. He has a certain ability to ‘understand’ other creatures, most likely due to his own species. It is often that Hagrid overlooks the dangers of these creatures, and urges others to love and understand them as he does. Hagrid is also a very sensitive beast, and will burst into tears when the ones he cares for are harmed for he feels responsible for their horrid situations.
Hagrid’s gentle nature helps him to form bonds in which he accepts pain and does not resent. He is kind-hearted and incredibly warm, putting others before himself. In the case of his mother, the half-giant does not hate her for abandoning both his father and himself. When it comes to those he cares for, he would rather receive the emotions blows rather than burden others with them. He might often be seen as a large emotional black hole, attracting the feelings of pain and sorrow to himself. His love for magical creatures often causes him emotional distress, when others take his blessed pets from him. Finally, when in battle, the half-giant often tries to protect those closest to him; such as Dumbledore and Gryffindors in general. He tends to favor his former house, and resents his natural enemy, Slytherins. Malfoy, in particular, has reaffirmed his hatred for the pureblooded house.

overall history:
Although not commonly known, it was be false to state that Hagrid’s history was of any particular importance in relation to anyone besides himself. His past experiences have, however, molded who he is, just as everyone’s does. It is his uncommon personality, however, that makes him a very useful ally. He was born in the West Country of England on December sixth, nineteen twenty-eight, near the Forest of Dean; which is to blame for his distinct accent. He is renowned for his half-wizard half-giant genes, and was often made fun of because of it. Hagrid and his father were left, around nineteen thirty-one, by Fridwulfa, Hagrid’s giantess mother. Despite this abandonment, Hagrid never develops hatred for his mother, displaying the true difference in personality that his half-human genes had conjured. For the remainder of his childhood, Hagrid’s wizard father raised him; deemed smaller and shorter than the half-giant by nineteen thirty-four.
By nineteen forty, Hagrid had received his Hogwarts acceptance letter, much to the delight of the boy’s father. His education began, and the half-giant was sorted into Gryffindor; possibly the best and most accepting house for him at the time. In his second year, Hagrid’s father passed on, much to the teary sorrow of Rubeus. By his third year, Hagrid had attained his first pet: an Acromantula known by the name of Aragog. This becomes significant when Tom Riddle, a Slythering Prefect, opened the Chamber of Secrets, unleashing the basilisk upon the study body. Myrtle was eventually the first death-victim of the monster, causing Hogwarts to threaten to close its doors to all students and staff. In an attempt to prevent this, Riddle became aware of Aragog and framed Hagrid as the culprit, accusing him of other forbidden deeds dealing with dangerous creatures. Much to the horror and outrage of Rubeus, the staff of Hogwarts had no reason not to believe the trusted Prefect, and he was shortly thereafter expelled from Hogwarts. In an attempt to protect his pet, Hagrid helped Aragog escape into the Forbidden Forest. Shortly after leaving Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic deemed him unable to practice magic any longer, and promptly destroyed his wand. Due to the influence of Albus Dumbledore, the only professor to believe Hagrid’s truth on Aragog and the killing, the boy was able to remain a resident of Hogwarts as Gamekeeper. Also, Dumbledore mended his wand, which the half-giant keeps hidden within a pink umbrella, in hopes of it remaining inconspicuous and out of the watchful eye of the Ministry.
Hagrid’s loyalty and courage lead him to follow Albus into the original Order of the Phoenix, which led him to participate in the First and Second Wizarding War. After the first, in nineteen eighty-one, Dumbledore sent him to the burning remains of the Potter household to rescue a one-year-old Harry Potter. Upon the successful rescue, Hagrid fell fondly in love with the little Harry, personally holding himself responsible for the safety of the little boy. Reluctantly, he gave him up to the Dursleys, convinced by Dumbledore that growing up in the muggle world would be best for him, and that it was not a final goodbye. Nearly ten years later, it became Hagrid’s task to locate and re-introduce Harry back into the wizarding world. After finding the Dursleys in an isolated hut, Hagrid forced his way in and proceeded to speaking to Harry, even going so far as to giving him a birthday cake. The words were all misspelled, but Harry didn’t seem to mind. Hagrid is, by far, very untalented when it comes to reading and writing. Later, in Diagon Alley, Hagrid’s birthday present to Harry ended up being the beloved Hedwig; a snowy white owl. Also, on that day, Hagrid attained the Philosopher’s stone from Gringotts, given the incredibly important task of transporting it to Hogwarts.
During nineteen ninety one, in Harry Potter’s first year at Hogwarts, Hagrid played a rather large role; being as it was his three-headed beast Fluffy that guarded the object desired by both Harry and the Dark Lord. One of Hagrid’s main faults is his inability to keep secrets, and he ends up telling both Quirrell and Harry how to subdue his giant pet. In the doing so, Hagrid attains a dragon’s egg, quickly falling in love with the growing monster inside. He attentively cares for the fragile egg and immediately names the creature that appears from it Norbert, thinking that the dragon was male. Much to his horror and agony, his dragon was sent away to a colony in Romania. It was under reluctant agreement that Hagrid sent his adored Norbert away, thinking that Romania would be best for the dragon. In Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, Hagrid grew to quickly loath the new professor, Lockheart: personally offended at the selection in teachers. Toward the end of the school year, Hagrid was sent to Azkaban in response to the Chamber of Secrets being opened. This was due to his past accusation of being associated with the opening of the Chamber, and despite Dumbledore’s public support of the half-giant, the Minister of Magic insisted that he be sent away. However, before the man was taken away, he told Harry and Ron to ‘follow the spiders’, resulting in the discovery of the secret surrounding the Chamber of Secrets. This, also, ended up clearing Hagrid’s name concerning the incident fifty years ago with Myrtle, ending his short-lived imprisonment in Azkaban.
In nineteen ninety-three, Hagrid obtained both a hippogriff named Buckbeak and a teaching position within Hogwarts. Both became his current pride, resulting in the attempted blending of the two. Despite Hagrid’s countless warning to the third years in his first lesson of the dangers of a hippogriff, the lesson still ended in the disaster that can only be known by one name: Malfoy. The boy, insulting Buckbeak, was attacked and later was sentenced to execution by the Ministry due to Lucius’ influence. An appeal was made, however it was not successful. Despite this, prior to the actual execution, an unknown force released the hippogriff. Even to this day, Hagrid is unaware of what happened, for he is sure it wasn’t him. His ignorance to the issue saved him from further persecution. In Harry’s fourth year, during the Triwizard Tournament, Hagrid was naturally put in charge of caring for the several animals needed for both the transportation of the students from other schools and the creatures needed for the tournament. One such set of creatures were the Beauxbatons’ Abraxans. Before the first task, Hagrid, under the suggestion of Barty Crouch Jr. who was impersonating Mad-Eye Moody, showed Harry the dragons meant for each champion. For the third task, Hagrid used the raising of Blast-Ended Skrewts as a project for his fourth years: one such that grew large enough to use in the maze meant for the four. He became especially fond of these creatures, despite this appearance, due to their cross-bred genes.
During that year Olympe Maxime, the half-giantess headmistress of Beauxbatons, and Hagrid developed a somewhat romantic relationship that ended with the two dancing at the Yule Ball. When Hagrid assumed she was a half-giant as well, she was greatly offended and left him, confused and heart-broken. Due to Rita Skeeter’s report on his story, overheard whilst in her animagus beetle form, Hagrid received a rather lot of hate mail and hid in shame within his hut. During such time, Professor Grubbley-Plank took over his Care of Magical Creatures teaching position. When he tried to resign from the position, Albus refused to accept. Eventually, the golden trio was able to convince him to return to his teaching position, something that improved his broken heart tremendously. Later, however, Dumbledore assigned Madame Maxime and himself on a mission together: something that resulted in awkward tension throughout the trip. The two were sent to the giant colonies of north-eastern Minsk, their mission to dissuade the giants from siding with the Dark Lord. At first, their mission was successful, affectively winning over Karkus, the Gurg. However, Death Eaters were lead an uprising within the colony, resulting in a giant named Golgomath beheading Karkus, therefore assuming the position of leader. The giants then were ordered to attack Madame Maxime and Hagrid, during which they were forced to flee. Shortly after, Hagrid discovered his half-brother Grawp, whom he insisted return to Hogwarts with him upon learning that he was having a hard time within his colony, due to his smaller size. Because Grawp is violent and was against the idea, Madame Maxime journeyed back to Albus separately from Hagrid and Grawp. The two have yet to return.

Hagrid sat, reminiscing, within his hut out on the grounds of Hogwarts. In silence, the half-giant stared at the wall, his expression blank. His large hand lay on the head of his boarhound, Fang. The beast could feel the misery growing within his Master, and in quiet comfort, set his head upon the knee of Hagrid. The time for tears had long since past for his lost Norbert, the little dragon being long gone. No, this wasn’t about his beloved little creature that he had received years back, only to have ripped from his oversized hands. Normally, Hagrid couldn’t feel sorry for himself, his inability to do so often brought on by the sheer amount of gracious love he gave to everyone who had wronged him. This wasn’t about his dear Buckbeak, whom was currently residing with Sirius Black. Although it might as well be, for a part of his swelled heart still ached for his adored hippogriff. Hagrid lifted his hand once, and patted Fang on the head. The dog whined in response. ”It’s okay, t’er, Fang. I’m okay.” Despite this, a tear ran from the corner of his black eyes and trailed into his long mane of dark curls.
He had been a Slytherin Prefect back in their time at Hogwarts, and Hagrid had a keen memory of how he used to be. He had been ambitious as always, just like the rest of them; however this one boy could not have been crueler to the half-giant. Lies and misery followed the young boy, generously giving to those around him. When a student had been killed at Hogwarts, Hagrid had been framed as responsible for the deed. Hagrid, and his dear pet Aragog whom the Prefect had made out to be the monster residing within the Chamber of Secrets. In the end, the boy had been none other than Tom Riddle, the very Dark Lord that plagued the minds of both the young and old today. Oh, how he’d succeeded in his life of . . . treachery. Now, the fear of that once young boy was prominent in his mind: He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Hagrid currently pitied himself, his mind consumed by his misfortune. Riddle had gotten the man expelled from Hogwarts, his pet Aragog was forced into hiding in the forest – currently ill at that, his dragon had been taken from him, and eventually his hippogriff had been sent off as well. Silently, the giant patted his boarhound once again, grateful that he was the only pet not to be ripped from him.
Tears of misery had stained his face, what was visible at least, but somehow his eyes remained white. Nothing suggested that the man had been weeping in solitude, which was for the best as suddenly there was a knock on the door. Fang gave his Master a second to get it together before he sat up and barked once, loudly. He was always the harbinger of visitors, much to Hagrid’s proud joy. The tears were quickly wiped from his eyes and he forced himself off the couch. His footsteps nearly shook the house, save for the stone holding it firmly together, as he marched over toward the door. ”Shush now, yeh grea’ beast,” he spoke, a fond smile highlighting his red-cheeks. He chuckled lightly, in an attempt to both sound normal and cheer himself up. Grabbing the handle firmly, the large man yanked and beheld his visitor, the appearance of such gaining another fond laugh. ”Harry! Wha’ brings yeh here?” Gesturing grandly, the man ushered Harry into his abode, the mere presence of the boy bringing his mood up considerably. ”Wha’ yer wan’? Tea? I can make yeh sum!” The jolly giant stopped off into the kitchen, leaving the boy to sit and wait for his return. Whilst in the kitchen, Hagrid sighed deeply, forgetting his momentary pity. Harry was here! All was well.
