would it make you feel better to watch me while i bleed?
all my windows still are broken, but i'm standing on my feet.
you can take everything i have, you can break everything i am,
like i'm made of glass, like i'm made of paper. and go on and try to
tear me down, i will be rising from the ground, like a skyscraper.

physical description:
Annie's hair is one of her favorite attributes that she has, and so she makes sure to take incredibly good care of it. She's very diligent about her morning hair routines, which usually involve straightening it, and since she does so much of that, she has to make sure she keeps it from breaking. It's a deep brown that reaches to about past her ribs, and it's naturally straight, but Annie straightens it anyways just so it looks shinier and sleeker. She also curls it sometimes, and she's had straight bangs before, but she decided she liked it better without.
Annie has very large doe-eyes that she keeps framed by nice eyebrows. They're a dark brown, and she tends to wear a lot of eye makeup to accentuate them. Before she learned anything about makeup, she hated her eyes because she thought the brown in them was bland and boring. Even now, she's still insecure about them when she's not wearing makeup.
Annie is an extremely lazy person over the weekends and when she doesnt have to go to classes, so if someone were to run into her when she doesnt have class, they would most likely see her in sweatpants, a t-shirt, and her hair in the messiest bun ever. She still wears makeup, just because she honestly feels like she cant be seen without it, but for her clothes she normally just doesnt care. For major events, though, she tends to get all dressed up and glammed out, because they get her very excited.
She is very, very short for her age, standing at a mere five-foot. Yes, just five foot. No inches there. She likes to think that she's five-foot and a-half, but in reality, she's not even five-foot and a-quarter. She's rather petite and has a medium-sized chest, with short legs. Her thighs are a bit bigger than normal, and she's incredibly insecure about them, especially since it's not all muscle. Annie's not the type of person to have a lot of muscle on her, considering she's one of the most unathletic people in her grade.

boggart:
Annie has plenty of fears, just like anyone in the world, but her boggart isn't what she, herself, expects it to be. Her boggart isn't the dark and it certainly isn't anything as childish as monsters under the bed- Annie's tends to go deeper than that. What she's really afraid of in the entire world is her family thinking she's a liar and that she's undeserving of their love. She thinks she's a failure to them, and she's scared that if they ever found out about some of her secrets, they would think she was lying. She's mostly afraid that her sister, who is also her best friend, would believe her to be making it all up. She cant stand the thought of any of them looking at her with dissapointment, so she hides everything inside of her.
dementor: When Annie was growing up, she had maintained a pretty normal, good life, and that didnt change when she got to Hogwarts. Most of her memories remained happy, and it wasn't until last year that she actually gained one of her worst memories. She remembers everything so vividly, and that's what really makes it horrible for her. It's not that the memory is absolutely dreadful- she's had worse, but this one has just always stuck with her. It's when everything first begin with her boyfriend- they had only been dating about a month. Annie had been walking back to the dormitories with him after the Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Quidditch game that Gryffindor had lost. He was pretty pissed, and she'd been trying to make him feel better, to no relent. She had never seen him like that before, and though she knew he had always been a sore loser, usually he left it for on the field. That time, though, he was acting weird, and he kept snapping at her whenever she tried to convince him that it was going to be okay. And maybe that was what made him snap? She had just told him that they would probably just win the next game, and when he didnt respond, she got a bit fed up. She started to walk away, completely irritated by his soreness of losing, when she felt someone grab her by the arm roughly. At first, she had thought that it was just a misunderstanding, that he hadnt meant to grab her so roughly, but then when she turned around to look at him, he shook her, hard. He demanded to know where she was going, and when she responded that she was just going to bed, and that what he was doing was hurting her, he immediately let go and his face softened. Yes, this is one of Annie's worst memories, just because it's the one that started the snowball effect that is now her life.
patronus: Annie's patronus is a turtle, which, when she first conjured it, frustrated her to no end. She couldnt understand why in the world she would be like a turtle, and it wasnt until she actually sat down and really thought about it that she figured it out. A turtle hides in it's shell, just like Annie does a lot of the time. She has a hard outside because she doesnt let anyone in. The memory she used to conjure the patronus was from when she was little- before her and any of her siblings had been accepted into Hogwarts. She had insisted that for her birthday her father and mother take them to an ice cream place- that was all she wanted. It seemed silly, but Annie had never had ice cream before, and at this point, she was seven. She wanted to be normal like all the other kids and just eat ice cream, so her parents finally agreed and took them. They sat around a small picnic bench and just ate it, and laughed and talked about everything.

family: Mother- Naomi Carson, Thirty-Seven, No occupation, Former Ravenclaw
Father- Benjamin Carson, Thirty-Nine, Teacher, Muggle
Sister- Anisa Carson, Sixteen
Brother- Luis Carson, Seventeen
overall history: Annaleigh Navya Carson was born on a warm summer morning to Naomi and Benjamin Carson. The youngest of three, she was quickly accepted into the family, and looked after with plenty of love and care. Her parents both adored children, what with her mother being a stay at home mom and her father a kindergarten teacher. From a young age, she was taught discipline and obedience, and that was one of the major things that stuck with her while she was growing up. She was rather quiet as a child, and while her other siblings were, too, she was more noticably so. Annie treated everything with special care and nurture, especially animals, which she had a very large soft spot for. She grew up in a small house in Bristol, England, where they had a small forest surrounding it and a river that flowed through the forest. Her family was pretty well-off; not extroardinarily wealthy, but they never had money issues or any of the such. Her parents liked to attend dinner parties with their colleagues, in which they would drag their children along.
Annie's childhood was fairly normal when she was growing up. She got along with her siblings well, and although her sister and her had a small rivalry, they still loved each other. Her older brother was very protective and always seemed to be looking out for Annie and her sister. He still teased them, like any normal brother, but that was the thing- he was the only one allowed to tease them. If his friend made of them, then he made sure they never did it again. Annie, Anisa, and Luis stuck together from a very young age through it all. When Annie was nine, Luis got a letter saying that he was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Of course, her mother had been preparing them for this for ages, and even her father- who was a muggle- knew about it. Eventually, Anisa was accepted into Hogwarts, too, and Annie was left alone. She became a bit jealous that both her siblings were accepted before her and left her by herself, but all thoughts of that were taken away when she got her own acceptence letter.
In the beginning, Annie loved Hogwarts. It was new, exciting to her, rather than boring like she felt most of her life had been. Most of her years were normal- she overachieved in everything, tried much too hard, and succeeded in all her classes. Annie hated anything less than perfection- however, she's always had rotten luck with guys. That was always the one thing that made her life less than perfect, and so, when she finally met a boy in her fourth year who just seemed absolutely perfect, she was overjoyed. Her life was finally nothing less than exceptional. She was beautiful, had perfect grades, an amazing boyfriend, and a good home life. She figured nothing could go wrong- that is, until it all did.
Her boyfriend was older than her and more mature- he wanted things she didnt. It started off small, him just asking her about it, bringing it up in conversations. She thought it was purely innocent, just his raging horomones. However, one day he turned violent when she refused. He grew angry with her and grabbed her, and from then on, it just kept going. It started off with pulling, which lead to pushing, then grabbing, and eventually hitting. Annie never told anyone, never let them know what was going on, because she was so afraid of her family being dissapointed in her. She also had an obsession with a perfect life- and her life certainly wasnt perfect anymore. Finally, in the end of her fourth year, her boyfriend pulled the last straw- he tried to rape her. He didnt succeed, but he tried, and that was all it took for her to leave him. She didnt break up with him, but she avoided him at all costs, and when summer came, she refused to answer to any of his letters.
Now, she's back at Hogwarts, and she's terrified out of her mind that he thinks they're still together. She just wants this nightmare to end.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day out, and because of that, Annie had decided to go down to the lake. She had absolutely no idea what she would do down there, but she was tired of being cooped up in her dormitory with her fellow room mates. She loved them death, she always would, but some of them could drive her insane within minutes. Jennifer was one that irked her occassionally, but then again, most of them did. Everyone always assumed that just because they were girls, there was tons of drama, and sometimes, there was. But most of the time, they were just like guys- occasionally sick of each other, but all in all, they were friends.
Being around them made her miss home terribly, and she realized that, right about then, she would've been attending plenty of dinner parties with her parents. But, mostly, she would've been attending the one with the DeBuoires. Her parents were at it, and they had written her, telling her who was going to be attending, etc. Annie missed it all like never before, and honestly, she didnt really want to be at Hogwarts right about then. In fact, home sounded nice, but she knew that wasnt happening anytime soon. Afterall, wasnt her education more important? 'Not really.' She sighed, walking softly along the grass. She had decided on leaving her hair down and throwing on her sweatpants and a t-shirt. Annie really wasnt the type for dressing up, and almost everyone knew that.
She eventually decided to sit down, pulling her knees up to her chest carefully. Her back still hurt a bit from where she had tripped over a root the last time she'd been on the grounds, but it was slowly healing, and she knew the pain wouldnt last that long, anyways. Annie wasn't usually one for clumsiness, instead opting for grace, but she'd been looking for the perfect doodling spot, and definitely hadn't been paying attention.. A song quickly caught in her head, and she began humming to it, lost in the sight of the lake in front of her.
