The ginger sat with his hands crossed at the center of his desk. Confusion overwhelmed him as he remained silent, taking in the atmosphere. Someone's got him on confundus. That.. or too much pumpkin juice. His face didn't look like he was watching death. His voice didn't sound like its usual 'say something unintelligent and I will hit you forcefully with my nose' monotone. He sounded almost like a.. human being. It hadn't been so noticeable before, when he had sat through other potions classes. However now that the difference was present, it was hard to pay attention to anything else. And this realization, coming from the most easily distracted student in the room, was pretty rare. It was intriguing to the point where Fred was almost entranced. One could have mistaken the gaze on the twin's face for being love-struck.
Focus, Fred, focus! Enough with the gooey face. Ya probably look like Ginny after a Michael Corner snogging session. Shaking his head, Fred's attention shifted from the tone of Snape's voice to the words that were coming from his lips. It actually didn't sound like useless information anymore. Snape wanted them all to succeed. In a nutshell, Fred was capable of doing so. His interest in potions had expanded greatly over the last few years as he had discovered the things he could do with them. The course he sat in was not going to be a waste of his time, and it seemed as though the Master of all things Potionlike wanted to help.

Professor, he respectfully called out. the appearance and effects of a polyjuice potion vary greatly, as a genius such as yourself are already aware. Are we to describe the general affects, he paused. Don't give out the answer. Be subtle. such as.. 'It alters the appearance of..' or would you prefer a more specific example..such as.. 'the ugly git who consumes such a potion would transform into the most lov-- It happened often. He had lost track of the topic. Sir, I reckon I'll just reread the assignment. He grinned sheepishly. Thank you. With a nod, he put his head down and glued his brown eyes to his parchment.
