physical description:
- EYE COLOR ;;
Eric Avery has a pair of very unique sepia toned eyes. They are equally as intense as they are deep, and some would even describe them as mysterious. Mysterious as they may be, they are accompanied by immense dark circles beneath. His eyes are well trained and do not betray him when he is preparing for his next kill, or deceit. They reflect depth while concealing his true manipulative nature.
[/li][li]HAIR COLOR ;;
Nearly shoulder length, his hair corresponds appropriately with his personality. His hair is dark, wild, untamed and notably wavey. His hair is his most noticeable feature, and the only feature that betrays his taste for insanity.
[/li][li]BODY TYPE ;;
Eric has both a healthy and nimble frame. He is dexterous, and well-practiced in the dark arts. He stands at approximately 5'10”, and fits the profile of wiry. He is quick as he is nimble, and also obtains a fair amount of physical strength. His skin is exceedingly pale, and one might question as to whether he has ever seen the sacred sight of the sun.
[/li][li]ATTIRE ;;
Eric has taken a love for traditional garb, especially if it was from the late 18th early 19th century. While his wardrobe might sound outdated in theory, when he puts it to practice it blends nicely, with a touch of elegance, to the typical working class wizards attire. He always keeps a sneak-o-scope on his body, and a medallion that he believes will bring about good fortune.
[/li][li]OTHER NOTES ;;
Compliments of his many years of followed routine and self-discipline, Eric could be described as a physically healthy, individual. His demeanor demands respect from others, if not trust. He resonates with confidence, perhaps too much, though his expressions oft display a scowl or a look of deep thought. His smiles are frequently mad, and backed with callousness and cruelty. His smile displaying his twisted and warped personality.
His attire changes depending on the task he has at hand. When he is around others of his kind, he prefers to wear the style of old. Though his most common outfit is that of a velvety jacket, and a white button up collared shirt beneath it. Accompanied by black slacks, and boots. He doesn't fear looking like a 'freak' when a human is in his presence, and shamelessly does not change his appearance for them. He relies on his charisma to gain their trust when required, and usually this works without fail.[/li][/ul]

NECROPHILIACSSEVERUS SNAPE ;;
Eric has always carried a flame for Severus, ever since their first year at Hogwarts, when Avery convinced Lucas to take Severus under their wing. For the longest while, Avery actually served as Severus's protector, as he was not too popular in Slytherin house due to his blood status. Despite all that, Eric was there to help pick Severus up throughout the school years, and made the ultimate sacrifice by wishing Severus could be happy with Lily, hoping she'd return his love.
Severus faced many complications throughout the years: The loss of Lily, near death experiences and bullying at the hands of the Marauders, and even the death of his mother. Eric, being his closest ally, was the only one who stuck around to help Severus, and Severus is one of the very few people to ever get inside Eric's inner circle and under his skin. Unfortunately, there was a time in his life when Bellatrix scared the sneakers off his feet, and petrified him in place. Severus had devised a plan for Eric, deepening their bond for one another, and taught him to use the spell Sercumsempra, meant for a one-time use against Bellatrix to attempt to prevent further fear and what appeared in Eric's eyes to be bullying. Bellatrix never forgave them this, though Severus did cave and teach her the spell, so long as she didn't use it on Lucas or Eric. This action reversed their relationship with one another, and it was Severus who then filled the protective shoes.
However, when Severus left to be a spy for Dumbledore for Lily's sake, the once stable and intelligent Eric had a huge mental breakdown. His emotions turned off, regarding everything and everyone, except Snape. His drive becoming fear, coupled with anger. Feeling abandoned, and betrayed,and heartbroken too Eric never lost contact with Severus. However as a result of Severus's abandonment, he has developed a SPLIT PERSONALITY which shows in times that Eric can not defend himself, taking the place that Severus had filled for so long.
After reuniting with Snape, he found that Snape had planned to save him from the Dark Lord, promising never to abandon him like that again. His new role in the war may be as a spy filling the shoes of Care of Magical Creatures Professor. [-Plot verified by Freddie-]
[/li][li]02 - BELLA PUNTING ;;
This sounds dirtier than it actually is. The original version was, in Avery's eyes, the best game in the world. He was an overzealous and very arrogant twit as a younger individual, and seemed to enjoy pushing Bellatrix, as she had once pushed him. Neither party forgave each other. It started when Avery was pushed around and made to become highly terrified of Bellatrix, Severus had devised a plan to conquer her with the only method he knew would work: Being scarier than she was. After Severus created Sercumsempra, he taught Eric to master it, and use it on Bellatrix. While Bellatrix seems to continue to pick fights, it seems that she is more reluctant to do so without an audience.
Score: Severus & Eric 910 | Bellatrix 125. Pity.
However, as the years passed, in the fifteen years of separation between Severus and himself, he began to look up to Bellatrix in a sort of unusual way. In a seeming admiration, he began to envy her beliefs, lack of doubt, and courage. He strives to be like her, at least in those aspects, though will never admit it to Severus. He is starting to wonder if she's really as bad as he once thought.
[/li][li]03 - GAMBLING ;;
Not so much with money as with his life. He loves to take risks, and put others in highly uncomfortable situations, the more inferior they are, the better. He really enjoys putting pure bloods down if they are muggle lovers. He believes that putting them out before they have the chance to breed is doing the world a favor. Who needs more muggle-lovers, when muggles are the epitome of all evil? He enjoys challenging the authority at the Ministry of Magic, as well as his own Lord at times, to serve the wizarding world a new dish of muggle extermination.
[/li][li]04 - PAIN & PANIC ;;
Oh, but not when it happens to him. No, no... In fact he rather enjoys observing bad things happening to others. It's their own fault for getting themselves into that predicament, and had they looked before they leaped, half they time the conflict could have been avoided. Oh but pain and torture are wonderful things... Especially on those defenseless vermin that are referred to as muggles. He enjoys watching them squirm in fear or anticipation of what is to come, and there are things so much worse than death.
[/li][li]05 - FOOLISH WAND WAVING ;;
You know how kids are told not to run with scissors? Or in the wizarding world: Thou shall not wave thine wand foolishly? ... ... Good for you! You have morals! Unfortunately for the rest of the world, Eric doesn't! Isn't that wonderful? He takes pride in hexing, cursing, charming, or just spontaneously destroying anything that opposes him or gets in his way. Muggles, Pure Bloods, Monkeys? He doesn't give a rip, so watch your back or foolish wand waving might be the death of you. Possibly even with your own wand... Imagine that.
[/li][li]06 - ESCAPING PUNISHMENTS ;;
No more needs said on the matter, he doesn't like being punished. Or perhaps you think that having the unforgivable curses raining down on you by the hands of the Darkest Wizard in existence is a joy ride? The only thing worse than the Dark Lord is Azkaban, and Eric is a coward: He'd rather not face either.
[/li][li]07 - TEMPTING FATE ;;
Breaking Rules, in other words. He hates being told what he can and can't do. So he often tempts fate by ignoring the groundwork set for him, if he believes he won't get caught. He is paranoid, so doesn't break the rules as often as he would like, because he doesn't wish to be caught and punished by Voldemort, nor does he wish to be caught by the Ministry and sent to Azkaban.
[/li][li]08 - HARRY POTTER ;;
Gryffindors in general are simply amusing prats. They believe they are serving 'good' and do everything 'right' and by the 'book'. However times are changing, and they are dark, playing by the book will earn you nobody's favor. He thinks its hilarious to observe these little twits as they try to play the hero. They serve as a valuable lesson to why good will never prevail. As the dark lord says: There is no good, and no evil. There is only power and those too weak to seek it.
However through an accidental owl post, that he sent randomly venting about Severus, he was quite amused to find that Harry Potter was the random recipient. With his LOYALTY WAVERING TO THE DARK LORD this accidental friendship has the potential to prove humorous and enlightening, especially with his new-found / weird relationship to Severus.
[/li][li]09 - POWER & WEALTH ;;
Interesting how often these two collide isn't it? He wants to be a powerful wizard, one with enough wealth and common sense to make a difference to those blood-traitors who live among them. Muggles are parasites and there is no sense for any wizarding family to betray their own kind for the sake of non-magic folk.
[/li][li]10 - LUPIN, THE PYGMYPUFF ;;
Sure it's true that he's a Death Eater/Former Death Eater, but for some reason
[/li][/ul]
dislikes:
- 01 - ARROGANCE ;;
While it can be argued that Eric is an arrogant coward, it is a trait in which he absolutely cannot stand in others, at least when it is directed at him. He loathes the very idea that another individual, wizards and pure bloods especially, disregards his authority. It annoys him further when they display a conceited opinion of his/her own importance, merit, ability, etc.
[/li][li]02 - CLUMSINESS ;;
This trait bothers him while he is torturing others the most. If someone was to trip and miss their target, casting a hex on himself or another death eater, he might just end their life then and there. The only thing worse than knocking over a long-term project due to clumsiness, is following the action up with a gauche excuse.
[/li][li]03 - DISORGANIZATION ;;
Being the type to take pride in his ability to locate files, objects, etc, he is easily annoyed by the slightest disarray where things should be kept organized and orderly. It is expected of people of his rank to know where they keep their possessions and records. To lose one is a sign of irresponsibility, it is something he avoids.
[/li][li]04 - DISRESPECT ;;
While respect might need to be earned by most, Eric feels that his presence demands it. Regardless of if he's not known someone long enough for him to have earned their respect, he feels that Death Eaters demand a certain respect from the inferior race at the very least. He does not feel that saying please nor thank you in a respectful posture and tone is too much to expect. Absolute disrespect, especially from humans, does not go unpunished. Should anyone challenge his authority, he will rebuke them instantly.
[/li][li]05 - FORGETFULNESS ;;
Possibly the most annoying occurrence in the planet: forgetfulness. Nobody likes to be in the middle of a presentation and forget their line, or information. This applies to Theo as well. He cannot stand knowing that he has the information when he experiences the inability to recall it.
[/li][li]06 - BLOOD TRAITORS ;;
He hates muggles, so there is a huge problem when other wizards accept them into open arms into wizard society. He thinks the Ministry of Magic should focus their attention on the bigger picture and start putting to death the pure bloods who accept muggles. The wizarding race will soon be extinct if the magic users keep mating with non magic scum.
[/li][li]07 - PEDANTRY ;;
He is of a firm belief that to exist, one must learn to adapt. An individual must be able to change, sometimes without warning, to fit their circumstances. In order to recover quickly, one must learn to accept ones losses and move on, starting again, regardless of how discouraging it is. Those who remain rigid, and refuse to see outside of the box cannot adapt to the ever changing environment. Those who can not adapt frustrate him for both his sake and the Death Eaters.
[/li][li]08 - INCOMPETENCE/RECKLESSNESS ;;
He is a tactician in some cases: Intelligent and calculating. He dislikes when, wizards especially, fail to live up to their potential and think with their brawn and not with their brains. While peace may not be an option, barreling into the enemy lair recklessly is not a good way to earn Eric's stamp of approval. He also finds it to be annoying that many magic folk don't stop to think. Knowledge is power.
[/li][li]09 - UNACCOUNTABILITY ;;
While he is known for not taking his own actions into his accountability, he has a problem with anyone who cannot step up and accept responsibility for their actions. Be it an inaction, an action, a success, or a failure, it infuriates him when people cannot own up to their own doings. Depending on the details of the event, consequences can become dire for someone without the spine to own up to their actions. For better or for worse, the actions belong to the doer, and if the doer cannot accept responsibility, they should not have acted in the first place. Especially if they attempt to lay the blame on the shoulders of someone else.
[/li][li]10 - WEAKNESS ;;
Even though everyone has a weakness, Eric is not overly thrilled when his are exposed. Especially in front of the wrong crowd. He believes he is always at risk because of his rank, and naturally dislikes other people knowing about his weaknesses. He is particularly afraid of his own weakness (Split Personality) being exposed.
[/li][/ul]
strengths:
- 01 - TURNING OFF EMOTIONS WHEN NECESSARY / SPLIT PERSONALITY ;;
Even the strongest of men can get emotional, and he is one to do so, at least when he is passionate about something. He has learned, after the betrayal of Severus, to turn off his own emotions long enough to carry out his orders. He has no reservations about doing so anymore, since his confidence in others was shattered when Severus left. Of course his lack of reservation stems from the fact that his personality does an entire shift, he even experiences time-blocks, and loss of time. When his personality reverts to his split side, he becomes the monster that Severus made him via abandonment. He becomes an emotionless HYDE that keeps negative memories to himself, and destroys anything that opposes him. The split-side of Eric is only triggered when he is in danger, or highly offended. When there is a threat. Emotional, or non.
[/li][li]02 - CRUELTY ;;
Being immoral tends to help since he is a death eater. He does not flinch when executing punishments to the 'innocent' parasites that wander the face of the planet. He loves using his unforgivable curses, as he really hates being told 'no' or 'wait'. He has no heart, and does find true pleasure in the pain of others.
[/li][li]03 - MOTIVATION ;;
Although he is motivated for all the 'wrong' reasons, he seems to be motivated none the less. He is quick to follow through with orders motivated by fear of what the Dark Lord will do to him if he fails to consent. He is motivated not to get caught by the Ministry of Magic, as he fears the Dark Lord will leave him there to rot. He is not Bellatrix the Dark Lord's Princess after all.
[/li][li]04 - CHARMS & HEXES ;;
The stronger they are, the better. He is a skilled magic user and has no problem hurling spells at anyone. Even his fellow death eaters. After all, spells can be supportive cast as well, and who knows what other spells lay out there undiscovered.
[/li][li]05 - CREATIVITY ;;
Creativity ;; In a world where everything can easily be portrayed as black and white: Eric has found a world of his own filled with colors and ambitions. A world where muggles cease to exist and magical creatures flourish. He is a dreamer, and an artist, and it is his ability to imagine a place more suitable to his needs that gets him through the darkest moments.
[/li][/ul]
weaknesses:
- 01 - TURNING OFF EMOTIONS WHEN NECESSARY / SPLIT PERSONALITY ;;

He has learned, after the betrayal of Severus, to turn off his own emotions long enough to carry out his orders. When there is a threat. Emotional, or non.
[/li][li]02 - COWARDICE ;;
He fears punishment above mostly everything, and will stop at nothing to weasel his way out of trouble. He has a great fear, and respect, for Voldemort and this same fear is shared with Azkaban and Dumbledore. There are some forces that Eric does not wish to cross wands with: These are some of them. He is the first to break down and beg the Dark Lord for forgiveness upon his return.
[/li][li]03 - IRRESPONSIBLE ;;
He is often the sort to not be able to take what he dishes out. He can't always accept that there is a consequence for every action, or inaction, or even wrong action. He tries to weasel his way out of trouble, and often tries to push off his shortcomings as the fault as another Death Eater.
[/li][li]04 - SHORT TEMPERED ;;
He is quick to anger, and snaps unpredictably. He has a huge problem with people telling him 'no' or trying to control him. He tries to maintain control of his environment at all times, but is not quite calm enough in the mind to realize that he can't control the environment when others are pressing his buttons. Bellatrix has mastered this.
[/li][li]05 - JUDGMENTAL ;;
Like most Death Eaters he is a very Judgmental being who quickly will turn his wand on those who oppose him, the Dark Lord, or Severus. If they're opposing Bellatrix, or any of the 'Gryffindor-Twit-Faces' he will gladly let them get what's coming to them. After all, it saves him the work of dishing it out himself. [/li][/ul]
mirror of erised: Being with Severus. He is madly in love with the man, and will stop at nothing until Severus is at least at peace with himself. He wants Severus to be happy, before himself. Though, without Severus, Avery begins to fall apart.
fears: Letting Severus down, Drowning & Burning
boggart: Azkaban. Eric fears Azkaban more than he fears the Dark Lord, or even Albus Dumbledore. To evade being punished for his crimes, he even lied to the Ministry of Magic, under the claim that he had served the Dark Lord because of the Imperius Curse. He's a coward at the feet of Voldemort too, as he was the first one to beg for forgiveness. He is often punished by the Dark Lord for his cowardice.
dementor: Eric's worst memory was murdering his father in his first Split-Personality incident. When he came to, the only person who ever loved him in return, his mother, had witnessed the unfortunate turn of events and was going to send him to Azkaban. As a result of her threat, Avery murdered her on the spot, out of personal fear of experiencing first-hand the dementors kiss.
patronus: Turtle - Meeting Severus for the first time.

family:
Father - Magnus Avery
Mother - Isaura Avery
overall history: Eric was born to Isaura and Magnus Avery on June 13 of 1960 into a pure blood family. His life as a child is described as a difficult one. His father, from the day he was born, had in mind that his boy Eric would grow to be a strong Dark Wizard. Magnus was an abusive, alcohol-addicted man, who treated neither Isaura or Eric with one ounce of respect. He started teaching Eric the unforgivable curses, from the day he was able to hold a wand, beneath the Ministry of Magic's noses. Fortunately, Eric was not caught by the Ministry, or unfortunately depending on your standpoint. At the age of 7, his father had successfully taught him how to kill a small animal outside his house. A pygmypuff, which might be the source to Eric's protectiveness over small animals. His mother never knew, and being raised beneath Magnus, Eric never had the spine to tell her of the trespasses that his father forced upon him. In fact, for a while, he believed his fathers claim that it was 'normal' for wizard children to use destructive magics.
It wasn't until his days at Hogwarts when he understood this was not in fact a fact. He was accepted to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, at the age of eleven. Hogwarts wasn't as horrible as Eric had anticipated. He was good at making friends, but very rarely did he trust any of them. Especially with the reputation Slytherins were famed for, and proud of. However, the night of the sorting ceremony, had provided Eric with true love at first sight, as cliche as it sounded. He had watched the boy from the moment he had seen them, and after he was sorted into Slytherin, his heart swelled with glee. His name turned out to be Severus Snape, and after confiding his feelings about Severus to Lucas Mulciber, Lucas reluctantly accepted Eric's persuasion to let Severus join the group.
His dorm mates stayed consistent through most of his school years, and they consisted of Destin Wilkes, Lucas Mulciber, and Severus Snape. The dorm mates became close quickly, even Destin seemed to fit in from time to time, and their study habits often grew to include each other. Eric had a decent hand with Transfiguration, which he happily shared with the others in the group, spending extra time to make sure Severus was able to perform the spells that he struggled with. Lucas was a hero when it came to History of Magic, which was by far the most hellacious thing ever admitted into Hogwarts. In Eric's opinion it should have been denied enrollment at all.
Eric was the people person of the group, and often was viewed as the lesser threat of the group, making him the one people tended to approach. This gift helped Eric to become good friends with a few of the upper-years. Such as Lucius Malfoy, Rodolphus Lestrange, and Evan Rosier. This is only noted because when people like Sirius started bullying Severus, Eric had no problem seeking reinforcement for (Behind-Severus's-Back Operation: Retaliations). Of course Eric often included Severus in these sprees, but he was very highly protective of Severus and wanted him out of harms way. Two years into their school years, Eric realized the older students would have close to little effect on the Marauders who didn't seem to care when their efforts were sabotaged or avenged. It was clear that they had waged war on Slytherin house, at least in Avery's eyes. This became personal when they seemed to bully Severus the most, due to his liking of that Gryffindor girl who didn't seem to return ANY of his feelings.
In their third year, Severus had confided in Eric about Sirius Black's unintentional attack to kill Severus. Adding insult to injury, Sev had been spared by James Potter, the bane of Sev's existence. Eric, so upset, rarely allowed Severus to depart from the common room without a large group of Slytherin's after that. Eric also saw it fit to confront Sirius alone, possibly the one time he did anything brave without being put up to it, or with reinforcements. The group that served as Severus's bodyguards frequently included: Bellatrix Black, who was very passionate about defending fellow Slytherins, a trait that Eric looked up to. The Slytherin prefects, and of course Eric, Lucas, Rodolpus, Evan, and Destin.
However, much to Eric's horror, in fourth year he became weak. While Severus was happy to be the new protector of the group, Eric felt helpless and inadequate. Bellatrix had been the bane of his existence in fourth year, she had always been both intimidating and powerful, and she had a sadistic side that rivaled his own. She seemed to, at times, take offense to Eric's quieter nature, and bully him on occasion. Eric was unable to stand up to her, and Severus wouldn't have it. Severus, being the brilliant mind that he was, had devised a clever curse to which he taught Eric. Severus, being the bleeding heart that he was, had only meant for the spell to be used once, however Eric became overzealous and nearly killed her. St. Mungos cured Bellatrix, and she remained unscarred, however, she likely has never forgiven Eric, though from time to time Eric regrets dishing it out as he had. In apologizing, Severus informed Eric that he had taught Bellatrix the spell, though she wouldn't be permitted to use it on him.
In their fifth year, Mulciber proved himself to be the darkest of the trio when he attempted to use Dark Magic upon Mary MacDonald in their fifth year. A mystery that never escaped Eric, however, was how Snape managed to be their friend when he seemed unamused by Mulciber and Avery's twisted/sadistic/dark/morbid sense of humor. Not alone in his bemusement: Severus had begun to spend time with Lily Evans, who was Snape's friend at the time, and she also tried to split up the trio because of Avery's humor being so morbid. He always wanted to introduce her properly to Mulciper after that.
Fifth year was just as eventful as the rest as the older students had graduated: Lucius, Evan, Rodolphus & Bellatrix. The odds were turned, not in their favor, as there were now three Slytherin boys against the Gryffindor quartet. Severus had snuck off to be alone, again, and had been assaulted by the Marauders, and destroying his bind to Lily. While Eric had been jealous of her, he hated to see it end, destroying Severus in the process. Eric did what he could to help Severus back on his feet, as he was one of the rare ones who knew everything regarding Severus's feelings, as he had always been in tune with Severus, and when he wasn't Severus kept him informed.
At the age of 17 he enlisted to become a Death Eater, alongside Severus, and Lucas. He fought in several battles alongside the other Death Eaters, especially during the First Wizarding War. Like the majority of the Death Eaters, he failed to seek out the Dark Lord after his downfall. This was forgiven the Dark Lords return.
He participated in the First Wizarding War, and afterward he was taken into custody by the Ministry of Magic Officials who had proven too tricky to dodge, and because of them: Avery stood trial to see if he was a Death Eater or not. Avery, however, was one of the more manipulative Death Eaters, and he weaseled his way out of trouble. He pleaded that he was afflicted by the Imperius Curse. Because of his fast thinking: He was not sent to Azkaban. However, he did not go seeking out his lord after his downfall either. Avery also assisted in the Quidditch World Cup riot, approximately one year before Lord Voldemort returned.
When Severus turned out to be a spy, Avery felt abandoned. Abandoned and destroyed beyond words. To cope with the absence of his best friend, the love of his life, and his protector: His subconscious created an alternate personality who becomes present only when there is a threat or a sign of danger. This personality coming forth is Avery's biggest obstacle. He can't control it, and often loses track of events and time, unfortunately he no longer cares to tame it. Though, he has told Severus, when it comes, people die or get hurt. It is safe to assume this split side is very dangerous, and unpredictable. This personality is responsible for Avery killing both of his parents.
Avery, on the other hand, was no fool. When the Dark Lord turned out to be capable of returning: He was the first Death Eater to grovel at the Lord's feet. He declared the reason behind not seeking out his master was because he believed him to be "finished". He then pleaded with the Dark Lord to forgive the Death Eaters (including himself) for disappointing him so tremendously. He was punished severely at the hand of the Dark Lord beneath the Cruciatus Curse, as well as ordered an additional 13 years of service to repay the debt that they had cost him, due to their incredible lack of belief.
Now the Dark Lord is seeking a prophecy, that he claims is made about himself and Harry Potter. A prophecy that is stored in the Department of Mysteries, within the Ministry of Magic. Avery has devised a plan that won't work to obtain the prophecy: Allowing an Unspeakable to attempt to retrieve it while under the Imperius Curse... If it didn't work why did he give it to the Dark Lord? Simple. Love. His heart is strained and he feels there is no more to live for, giving up everything he had left, he was hoping to meet his bitter end.
Not following this event by far: Avery was reunited with Snape, his weaknesses exposed, and his feelings as well. What will become of this?

"That would be the story of my life..." He narrated to himself as he flew over the Hogwarts grounds.
The weather was absolutely disgusting. Storms. Bloody thunderclouds everywhere, the deliverers of chaos, comfort, destruction, entertainment, and even life to the decaying world below. The sound of rain and hail could be heard, at first starting quietly serenading the afternoon with a quiet melody, but later becoming more severe and less welcoming. It was surrounded by darkness, lightning, and the rolling tides of thunder that tore the skies asunder. The angry clouds spit their fury upon the world they shielded from light, and created a purifying cycle for the earth below. This, was nature at it's finest. Flooding the lands, or ending droughts, nature was a very powerful force.
Amongst the chaos of the tempest skies was a single broom, laughing in the face of danger. It was an outdated model, though he dare not practice with his expensive new baby that he spent his life savings on for this years quidditch tournaments. An observer would be able to recognize that the rider was none other than that idiot, Avery.
After all, who else would be racing against a flock of rather wet and enchanted howlers? All seemingly sent by one individual. That other idiot Remus Lupin, a third year Gryffindor here at Hogwarts. It flew several feet in front of him jeering him on: "C'mon, Ricky Ricksters!!!" It cawed madly. "Snivellus flies faster than you do!" While behind him the sounds of a very amplified 'Chicken Dance' polka style, came from another flock of other howlers. Whatever you say, you two toned dog. he thought with a devilish smile playing his lips.
The lone howler had been stickied to a new snitch that Remus had mailed him via owl post. The rest of the flock had showed up when he arrived on the pitch, nothing like a good dose of sibling rivalry. Not only had it embarrassed him in front of the great hall, it had zoomed outside and taunted him until he came out with his broom. What kind of bloody enchantment was this?
The snitchy-howler had run him all over the field. It was no secret, he was not a seeker. In fact he was the bloody opposite. A keeper. He made a decent beater but that wouldn't explain this nonsense. The snitch led him up and up and up some more before he recognized the divination tower. "You're gonna get me in trouble!" He whispered paranoid at the howler which cried "Naaaahh-nee naaah-neee boooo booo" in response, sticking out its ribbon tongue to a spitting sound.
Annoyed, and determined, Eric leaned forward with one sudden burst of speed, without opening his eyes first. "HA- And you thought I was slow!"
THUMP-THUNK-CRASH!
Oh, bugger. He thought as he found his face plastered across the Divination window, his face strangely contorted against the glass, his feet barely keeping his balance on the ledge. Realizing many eyes had rested upon him, he smiled sheepishly and waved one hand, pressed against the glass cautiously, as he recognized many within the room to be Gryffindors and Ravenclaws, of lower years.
"Hi kids!" He called somehow enthusiastically through the windowpane, speaking directly to the horrified eyes. Spotting Lupin he tapped in his direction, "You... Are in soooo much trouble." He announced. Then smirking at the younger students he added, "She said I would die last year." Now indicating the divination instructor. "This is all YOUR FAULT WOMAN!" Feigning a death against the window, he was just as surprised as the rest of them as a seemingly random bludger burst through the window. "Uhm... That's not mine." Eric said honestly, forgetting about his current situation and pointing at the bludger that flew into the window, plummeting toward the ground.
Hand tightening on wand, he was suddenly glad to have quick reflexes. "Accio, broom!" He called, a moment later a mop flew out of the divination window and toward him. "You are not a broom. Accio broom." A vacuum from the same window. "You don't even work on Hogwarts Grounds!" Glaring at his wand, freefalling, he shouted "ACCIO SEVERUS SNAPE!" A moment later, nothing... Bloody typical. "HELP!" He squealed like a girl, he sure as hell didn't see this one coming.
